Da Book Joint is a Black woman-owned business born on the Southside of Chicago committed to literary growth and positive engagement of the youth.

Da Book Joint is a bookstore created with the purpose of uniting lovers of literature with diverse bestselling and rising authors. We’ve been in operation since 2007 and since then, we have developed a thriving community for our customers, where they can easily purchase books they love and come together with like-minded individuals through virtual and in-person literary events.
We are particularly interested in books targeted at the youth. We are looking to play our part in the development of the youth of the country, and we do so by providing a healthy selection of books and titles for them to select from. Locally, we actively encourage young learners through events such as our annual Community Book Fair, which provides book bags full of school supplies and a free book to children of our community.
Along with our exclusive book events, we look forward to reintroducing our annual event, Lit Fest on the Lake. Da Book Joint celebrates the love of reading amongst all ages by making a variety of authors and titles accessible to them.
